Job Title:
Guys and St Thomas is one of the largest hospital trusts in the country, with around 11,000 staff, a turnover of over £660m and around 900,000 patient contacts a year.
The Trust is made up of two of Londons oldest and most well known teaching hospitals. The hospitals have a long history, dating back almost 900 years, and have been at the forefront of medical progress and innovation since they were founded. Both hospitals have built on these traditions and continue to have a reputation for excellence and innovation.
An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and motivated nurse to join our Breast Services as an advanced nurse practitioner (ANP). As part of the Integrated Cancer Centre for Kings Health Partners, our aim is to combine first class clinical care with ground breaking research. The ANP roles in breast care are well established in the Trust and are distinct roles that contribute to managing the two week wait referral process and are separate to the breast care nursing roles. The successful applicant will be expected to work in both the diagnostic and follow-up breast clinics undertaking clinical breast examination and assessment of new referrals and working autonomously to manage an independent clinical workload. They will have extensive experience of working with patients with breast cancer but may need to develop further their skills in clinical breast examination and the management of benign breast disease. Support will be given to the successful candidate to achieve this if required.
The successful applicant will also join the innovative end of treatment clinics which are offered to patients entering survivorship. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be involved with the research and development programmes. Applicants will be expected to be educated to or be studying at Masters level.
The closing date for applications is 23rd July 2010. The interviews will be held on the 12th August 2010.
Guys and St Thomas is committed to fair pay for all its staff. Benefits include: Final Salary Pension Scheme, Swimming Pool and Fitness Centres, Knowledge & Information Centre, Social Clubs, On-site Nursery (limited places) and access to a Childcare Co-ordinator. The Trust aims to help staff balance work and home life.
