Details: We are seeking an enthusiastic Psychological Therapist to join a dedicated multi-professional team delivering a wide range of services for older people in Redbridge.
You should have experience of working in older people’s NHS services, and be able to offer psychological interventions from several therapeutic modalities. You should also have skills in neuropsychological assessment. An interest in group work would also be desired. North East London Foundation Trust provides services in four London Boroughs, of which Redbridge is one, and easily reached by car and public transport.
As a service we regularly take trainees from three London training courses in clinical psychology, and from four London courses in counselling psychology. Older People’s services have particularly strong academic and research links with UCL and we are currently supporting the work of two clinical trials, including a large scale RCT of reminiscence therapy. The Trust has a positive commitment to training and development and expects its psychology staff to engage in helping to modernise the skills of the workforce. Psychological therapies are highly regarded and seen as pivotal in supporting the roll out of NICE guidance and other Department of Health documents.
