Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust is a Mental Health and Learning Disability Trust, and have just been voted 46th in the UKs Top 100 organisations for providing Health Care services. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist to join our specialist, regional Liaison Psychiatry Service. Liaison Psychiatry is the subspecialty of psychiatry concerned with clinical services, teaching and research in the general hospital setting. This service aims to provide physicians and surgeons in all settings in the general hospital with defined access to a specialist multi-disciplinary team. The team provides assessment and treatment to patients experiencing psychiatric or psychological problems that co-exist with physical health problems or health concerns. We work with people with a range of complex presentations. The post holder will work as a senior member of a highly motivated and committed Liaison Psychiatry multidisciplinary team, delivering CBT to individuals referred by colleagues, within this team. They will work with a high level of autonomy, developing specific case formulations based on CBT practice and theory for this service user group. We do not expect applicants to be experienced in working in this specialism and full support and supervision would be given to the successful candidate in understanding the specific nature of the work, however a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the service area is an advantage. The post holder will also get involved in further developing the Liaison Psychiatry CBT service as well as delivering CBT supervision and training to a broad range of disciplines with the Liaison Psychiatry service. In addition there is potential to develop a special interest, which could include treating people with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Experience of using Compassion Focused Therapy is desirable but not essential. Please note that the Trust reserves the right to close the vacancy before the closing date if a sufficient number of applications are recieved. It is in the candidates best interest to apply as soon as possible. In view of recent changes to Home Office Immigration Regulations all applicants must state their current immigration status, including expiry dates. In submitting an application form, you authorise Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust to confirm any previous NHs service details via the ESR IAT process should you be appointed to the post. If you would rather apply in paper format please telephone 0113 2952438 (24 hour answerphone) and request a pack quoting the job reference number. If you have not received any further communication from us within four weeks you are asked to assume that your application has been unsuccessful. If you should have any queries regarding progress with your application form please contact us.
