Grateley House School, part of The Cambian group, is a 38 week independent, residential school, for children and young people ages between 11 and 19, with Aspergers Syndrome or High Functioning Autism.
As an Assistant Psychologist you will be part of the Multi-Disciplinary Therapy Services team, working alongside all disciplines of staff within the school educating and supporting the students. In addition to working individually with students, the main working model is via managing and adapting the environment for the students. You will be responsible for carrying out assessments, developing formulations, and implementing intervention programmes and ideas using evidence-based approaches.
Supporting staff and monitoring progress is key. You will also contribute to staff training, audit and developing research opportunities. You will also be required to write reports and provide written summaries of information collated from a wide variety of sources. This will involve excellent word processing and literacy skills.
You should have a BA / BSc in Psychology, class 2:1 or better; or a higher second degree, including substantive empirical research experience. Ideally, this role would suit those with experience of working with young people with autism, or other experience in a mental health field, and who wish to pursue a career in psychology. We are also happy to consider applicants who have recently graduated.
This post is for working term-time only, 40 hours a week for 40 weeks a year, and includes a further 5.6 weeks holiday pay. Applicants will have to complete a CRB application.
