We are looking to appoint a forward thinking Consultant Psychiatrist to work into the Urgent Care team in South Tyneside. You will join an established group of 3 Consultants providing medical leadership to the crisis home treatment team and in-patient wards. The multidisciplinary team have worked hard to develop flexible and responsive approaches to care within an innovative model which has received national interest.
You will work with well established multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to be involved in service development, teaching and research.
Applicants will hold MBBS or equivalent, have entry onto the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining CCT), and be registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practice (or be eligible to become registered). Approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 is desirable.
The post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call rota, which currently attracts remuneration at 3%.
